Homeroom Curriculum
Counselors are providing homerooms with homeroom lessons through out first semester from Christian Moore's Resiliency Break-though.
This is a guidebook for students learning how to navigate difficult situations or unexpected hiccups in their day. Understanding how to think differently, find your support system, and find what helps you be resilient.
Homeroom Lessons/
School Wide Culture
Some homeroom curriculum as well as new student culture guidance is being taught from Ron Clark's "The Essential 55" and the companion workbook. These 55 skills are proven to help students be more successful in school and in life. Skills reviewed cover a variety of things from the importance of eye contact, to how to greet somebody new, to how to be organized and standing up for what you believe in.
SOS Suicide Prevention
Each fall, counselors will meet with every classroom to discuss signs of suicide and suicide prevention using the SOS curriculum. Students will learn to recognize the signs of suicide or self harm in themselves and in their friends, as well several ways to report things they see or get help for themselves or a friend.
